Ege University will host the 2nd International Turan Film Festival in İzmir.
The 2nd International Turan Film Festival is set to meet cinema lovers in İzmir, building on the success of the first “Red Apple”-themed festival, which was hosted by Ege University in İzmir. The festival aims to highlight the shared values and cultural ties of the Turkic world, contributing to the strengthening of these bonds and showcasing the cultural diversity and richness of Turkic states and communities.
Organized with contributions from Ege University, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY), and the General Directorate of Cinema, the 2nd Ege University International Turan Film Festival will take place in İzmir from May 3rd to May 6th, 2025.
The International Turan Film Festival aims to encourage the development of Turkic world cinema and contribute to its international promotion. It serves as a platform that brings together quality productions from across the Turkic world with audiences, while also uniting dedicated producers, actors, critics, and artists. This gathering, which will bring together all stakeholders of Turkic world cinema in İzmir this year, aims to increase the international visibility of Turkic cinema and enable Turkic culture to reach wider audiences through film. Beyond preserving cinematic activities in Turkic states and communities, the festival also provides an environment for the mutual sharing of cultural heritage. This art feast, which brings the ancient values of Turkic culture to the big screen, motivates young talents in Turkic world cinema and offers a broad perspective to future generations.
The heart of Turkic world cinema will beat in İzmir from May 3rd to May 6th, 2025!
